Food assistance benefits set to expire Saturday as the government shutdown continues. United Way Broward’s Kathleen Cannon says they are hosting a pop-up food distribution at their headquarters in Fort Lauderdale from eleven until three this afternoon for those affected. They will continue with the distributions every Wednesday until further notice.
Jewish Community Services of South Florida is distributing relief supplies to TSA and Customs employees at Miami International from noon until four today for those who have been working without pay for a month.
