Miriam Singer has announced her planned transition from the role of President & Chief Executive Officer of JCS in January 2028
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MIAMI, FL – June 15, 2026 – Continuing a distinguished, highly successful tenure, Miriam Singer has announced her planned transition from the role of President & Chief Executive Officer of Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS) in January 2028. Singer has been at the helm of JCS since January 2020 and will conclude her work formally as CEO in 18 months.
Through a wide range of integrated services, JCS serves over 100,000 individuals annually, empowering people of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds to overcome challenges and build stable, secure and connected lives. JCS operates under the belief that everyone should be treated with dignity, and have the support needed for their journey to self-sufficiency.
Since beginning her professional career as a social worker in 1982, Miriam has built a reputation for effectively navigating complex community issues with clarity and delivering measurable results balanced with compassion and a caring heart. In her role as President & CEO of JCS, she has led high-performing teams focused on aligning strategy with organizational priorities during a period rife with both local and global crises impacting clients and agency operations. These include a comprehensive multi-year pandemic response, as well as responses to physical catastrophes, crime, war-related trauma, challenging governmental policies, and antisemitic threats.
“Serving as a member of the JCS professional team is a privilege. This work continues to provide a meaningful opportunity to support an agency that embodies dignity, compassion, and respect based on Jewish values. JCS plays a vital role in ensuring children, families, and seniors, including our treasured Holocaust Survivors, receive compassionate, high-quality services from a trusted culturally competent provider,” said Singer. “I thank the community for their continued confidence in our agency, and for the opportunity to have led JCS into the next century in bringing our mission to improve the quality of life and self-sufficiency of the Jewish and broader community based on Jewish values, to life — L’Chaim.”
Singer effectively balances fiscal responsibility, compassion, and compliance with the evolving needs of a multigenerational, culturally strong, high-performing workforce while ensuring a consistent standard of high-quality care for all clients. During her tenure, she assumed leadership of three JCS affiliate agencies: Masada Home Care, JCS Cares Housing, and the Jewish Community Foundation. Widely recognized for her strategic vision, consultative style, and ability to turn challenges into opportunities, Singer is frequently sought out by nonprofit and government leaders locally and nationally as a trusted thought partner for achieving strategic management success and lasting high-quality results.
“We are indebted to Miriam for growing our agency in size and impact as a widely respected provider of services into its second century of service to our beloved community. She has led this agency with so much heart and integrity, and will be truly missed,” said JCS Board Chair, Vanessa Ressler, who added that the board plans to engage an executive search firm shortly.
