Local 10 News Story spotlights JCS responding with aid and support amidst the federal government shutdown

The Jewish Community Services of South Florida announced on Wednesday that there was a relief effort to deal with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’s shutdown.

The nonprofit organization based in North Miami estimated that more than 1,400 “JCS clients” in South Florida, some of whom include Holocaust Survivors, will be losing about $176 monthly.

JCS has also been providing temporary aid to workers with the Transportation Security Administration and Customs and Border Protection at Miami International Airport.
