Rosh Hashanah is right around the corner. On September 13th, we will say goodbye to the Hebrew year 5775, and turn the page to a new chapter. With 5776 just under a month away, it’s time to start thinking about New Year’s Resolutions. So, what resolution should be on everyone’s list? Volunteering more often.

One of the values that is embedded into JCS’ mission is ‘Tikun Olam,’ or ‘repairing the world.’ We like to believe that we contribute to this every day, and with the constant support we receive, so do you. But it’s time to kick it up a notch.

This Rosh Hashanah, while you are at the dinner table with family and friends, consider this: there are people in our community who don’t have loved ones to join them for the holiday dinner.

Volunteering at JCS Milk & Honey on Sunday August 30th   will set the tone for the New Year. More than 500 volunteers will assemble and deliver special Rosh Hashanah food and gift baskets to approximately 600 seniors.

There are people out there who depend on us; who need our help. Let 5776 be the year their prayers are answered.

This year, make a resolution to better the community and lets get a head start then with your family at Milk & Honey. L’shana Tova.

Sign up now for Milk & Honey on Sunday, August 30th  at 9am at the Greater Miami Jewish Ferdation, 4200 Biscayne Blvd.. For group participation, contact Marian Mendelsohn at 305-403-6539 or mmendelsohn@jcsfl.org.
