JCS hosted a Two’s Company Shavuot Party on May 22, at Michael-Ann Russel JCC as part of Connect Miami. This was an intergenerational event complete with Yiddish songs and dancing to honor more than 180 Holocaust Survivors!
JCS’ Two’s Company is a volunteer service that pairs Holocaust Survivors and other elderly individuals throughout Miami with a friend. Visits will be managed in a flexible way*.
JCS’ Two’s Company offers a luncheon several times a year to honor these friendships. It is a special event that brings together some 200 seniors, their aids, family members and volunteers.
The luncheons run between 11am-1pm and is held at the MAR-JCC in North Miami Beach.
Day schools interested to have their students perform, sing, dance or just mingle with the seniors, must pre-arrange.
Community service hours are available to students. We assure this will be a meaningful experience for both the students and the seniors.
