A family tradition that includes three generations takes place each Chanukah and JCS is the beneficiary of this largesse. The Scheck Family from North Dade takes their children grocery shopping to buy food for families served by the JCS Kosher Food Bank and then brings the children to the Food Bank to deliver it themselves.
The most amazing aspect of this tradition is that ALL of the Scheck children have been involved in or visited the Food Bank in the past, because their parents instilled in them the importance of caring about those in need and their responsibility to do something about it.
