Kindness from Kids & Mitzvah Hands

Dana Tangir's twins with their older sister

Dana Tangir’s 5-year-old twins wanted to share their birthday with the children of the JCS Kosher Food Bank.  So they asked their birthday party guests to bring checks or gift cards instead of presents for them.  They came in to bring the gifts, and then went
shopping and bought food and put in on the shelves. Happy Birthday to these very
special kids!

Mitzvah Hands Delivers Decorations & Donations

The Group from Mitzvah Hands

Ilana Entin is a mother who started a new organization called Mitzvah Hands which spends time doing good things in our community.  “I created Mitzvah Hands as a tool to teach our children to give back to otheres less fortunate,” Ilana explains. The JCS Kosher Food Bank was lucky enough to be chosen for a Mitzvah Hands Day of Volunteering in which a large contingent of enthusiastic adults and children spent their Sunday, Jan. 22nd,  at the facility decorating it in an amazing winter wonderland motif, in addition to bringing lots of food items to donate.  We thank Mitzvah Hands for touring the Food Bank and giving it a facelift with the decorations and handprints. We really appreciate the kosher food too!
