JCAT’s Cast of “Oliver” Gives Large Donation
The young cast of “Oliver,” a musical that recently completed its run at the J’s Cultural Arts Theatre (JCAT) collected over $1500 in Publix gift cards for the JCS Kosher Food Bank. This is the speech they delivered to audiences to solicit donations for this generous gift:
“Unlike the orphans in ‘Oliver,’ we are blessed with well-stocked pantries and full refrigerators. We have had turkey dinners with our families and now look forward to latkes and presents for Chanukah. But there are people in our community who don’t have milk or bread for their children or are infirm or elderly and cannot even afford staples. That’s why this year, for our tzedakah project, we are selling $10 gift cards to Publix which will be donated to the JCS Kosher Food Bank. Please give generously to this worthy organization.”
Young Ellie Donates Toys
Two-year-old Ellie came into the Kosher Food Bank with her mother and brother to bring in a donation of toys. We appreciate this young girl’s unselfish gesture.
