Founded in 1995, Project HOPE offers clients:
- A basic screening and assessment
- Case management
- Job counseling
- Direct job placement
- Day labor training
- Vocational training
- No-cost transportation assistance and work equipment
How Can Project HOPE Help You?
Project HOPE offers your business pre-screened, ‘job-ready’ candidates. Our clients must meet stringent criteria established by JCS’ Rehabilitation and Employment Division, such as completing treatment and counseling programs to address issues that were barriers to employment and living in either transitional or permanent housing.
These candidates have received the training and preparation necessary to ensure they are capable of learning the job requirements which can lead them to permanent, full-time employment. Once they have undergone this lengthy process, they are ready to become productive, contributing members of society.
A Trial Period Can Help You Decide
JCS’ personnel will send you the best candidate for the desired position. We never want to set up anyone – the potential employee or the employer – for failure. If the first candidate doesn’t meet your needs, we will send you appropriate candidates until you are satisfied.
Even once you find a qualified person, you don’t have to hire him immediately. If you choose, JCS can place that job seeker in our Day Labor Training Program, which makes him eligible to work for your company for 30 days on a trial basis at no risk to you. JCS pays the person daily – at very competitive rates — and picks up the tab for FICA, Worker’s Comp, medical insurance and unemployment insurance.
At any point from day one to day 30 you have the flexibility to either hire the individual or not. The decision is up to you.
Good for Them, Good for You, Good for the Community
The participants in JCS’ Project HOPE are not looking for a hand out, but a hand up. Our job is to break down barriers to employment while our clients’ job is to take initiative and act responsibly while turning their lives around.
