Over 120 clients of JCS’ Senior Adult Division enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Day celebration at the South Shore Community Center, thanks to dozens of volunteers who came to assist at the annual event. Their enthusiasm made a real difference in the lives of those who attended, bringing a special spirit and extra dimension of caring to seniors who might otherwise have spent the holiday alone.
Our thanks to State Rep. David Richardson from District 113, which includes all of Miami Beach, for coming out to show his support. We would like to acknowledge the participation of several organizations which made this day extra special:
- The Mitzvah Teen Club of Harbor Island (MTCHI)
- Beth David Congregation and Gordon School
- Chabad Russian Center in Sunny Isles Beach
- Jacobson Sinai Academy for preparing the turkey centerpieces and creating greeting cards for each of the seniors
- And last but not least the JCS Alliance
We invite everyone to join us at JCS’ annual food distribution events. Our next one, called Matzah Mitzvah & More — where volunteers prepare and deliver Passover food trays to seniors throughout the community — will take place on Sunday, March 17th.
