Dr. Martin Karp, Vice-Chair of the Miami-Dade County School Board, generously invited the JCS Kosher Food Bank to do a “gleaning” recently at his home, where he has a tree with over 1,000 mangos. A group of JCS supporters showed up to pick the fruit, which was then donated to the Kosher Food Bank. Over 500 mangos were picked and there are still hundreds more that were out of reach near the top of the tree. Our thanks to Dr. Karp and everyone who came out to perform this mitzvah, which is greatly appreciated by our Food Bank clients.
