Jewish Community Services of South Florida (JCS) is proud to announce the debut of three ongoing support groups that address three critical topics: coping with bereavement, substance abuse recovery and helping parents of special needs children. Open to the Jewish community at no cost, these groups are conducted by professional staff to provide information, fellowship and support in a warm and welcoming environment.
“Growing Out of Grief” is a bereavement group in which facilitator Ann Miller, M.S.W., helps participants live through their loss and find renewed hope for the future. An expert in substance abuse, Jeffrey Agron, leads “Sustaining Jews in Recovery & Their Families” to help recovering addicts develop the tools they need to reclaim their lives. Linda Sachs, L.C.S.W., facilitates “Nourishing Parents of Special Needs Children,” in which parents learn to take care of themselves while addressing the issues involved in raising children with physical, emotional or psychological disabilities.
The groups are being held at JCS locations in Aventura, Miami Beach and Kendall. For more information, please call 305.576.6550 or email SupportGroups@JCSFL.org.
The largest Jewish social service agency in South Florida, JCS annually serves over 30,000 people, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, with mental health, senior support and vocational programs. For more information on JCS, please call Access at 305.576.6550 or visit www.jcsfl.org.
